At Kadam’s LunchBox, we prepare and deliver homemade, pure vegetarian meals to your doorstep in Pune. Just as we are careful about the ingredients in our kitchen, we are equally careful with the personal information you share with us.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information in compliance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act), 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000. By ordering through our WhatsApp service or website, you agree to the practices described below.

We only collect information that is necessary to prepare your food and deliver it to you:

  • Identity Details: Your name and WhatsApp display name.
  • Contact Details: Your mobile number and email address (if shared).
  • Delivery Logistics: Your home or office address and nearby landmarks in Pune.
  • Dietary Information (Optional): Food allergies or dietary preferences you voluntarily share to help us prepare your meals safely.
  • Payment Information: UPI transaction reference numbers or payment confirmation screenshots shared voluntarily for payment verification.

2. What We Do NOT Collect

To keep your privacy simple and secure, we clearly state that we do not collect:

  • Government Identity Documents: Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID, or similar IDs.
  • Biometric Data: Fingerprints, facial recognition, or other biometric identifiers.
  • Children’s Data: Our services are intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 years of age.
  • Cross-Platform Tracking: We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.

3. Why We Collect Your Data

Your information is collected only for lawful and specific purposes, including:

  • Order Management: To process your daily lunch or tiffin subscription and ensure timely delivery.
  • Food Safety: To respect dietary preferences and avoid ingredients you have informed us you are allergic to.
  • Communication: To send menus, delivery updates, service messages, and billing information via WhatsApp.
  • Legal Compliance: To maintain records required under Food Safety (FSSAI), GST, and Income Tax laws.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

4. How We Use and Protect Your Data

We take reasonable and practical steps to protect your data:

  • Limited Access: Only the core Kadam’s LunchBox team can access full customer details. Delivery staff receive only the information required to complete a delivery.
  • Device Security: Business devices used for WhatsApp and records are protected with strong passwords, PINs, or biometric locks.
  • Secure Storage: Customer information is stored using secure, password-protected systems and encrypted cloud services with two-factor authentication where applicable.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your information only for as long as necessary:

  • Active Customers: Your data is retained while you actively use our services.
  • Inactive Customers: If there is no activity for 18 months, we will notify you and provide a 48-hour notice before deleting your personal data.
  • Legal Records: Transaction and invoice records are retained for 7 to 8 years as required under Indian tax and food safety laws. These records are not used for marketing.

6. Third-Party Services

We rely on trusted third-party services to operate our business:

  • WhatsApp (Meta): Our primary communication platform. Messages are protected by WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption.
  • Payment Applications: Payments are processed through UPI apps such as Google Pay, PhonePe, or Paytm. We do not store full bank account or card details.
  • Website Hosting & Analytics: Our website may collect basic technical information (such as IP address or browser type) and use basic cookies or analytics tools to improve performance and security.

Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policies.

7. Your Rights Under Indian Law

Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to:

  • Access: Ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request updates to incorrect or outdated information.
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data when it is no longer required.
  • Withdrawal of Consent: Stop receiving messages or services at any time.
  • Nomination: Appoint a nominee to manage your data in case of incapacity or death.

8. How to Withdraw Consent

You may withdraw your consent at any time by messaging us on WhatsApp or replying “STOP” to our messages.
Please note that withdrawing consent may prevent us from continuing meal delivery services.
